What is massage ?
Massage is the manipulation of soft tissues for therapeutic purposes.
The main objectives of massage are to:
- Relieve pain,
- Improve, or help to restore function or movement,
- Improve your overall well-being.
Massage is completely natural, using natural products, allowing your body to heal without the use of chemicals or drugs.
In therapeutic massage, Isla uses a series of soothing and invigorating movements put together in a sequence designed for you. The movements are applied to your skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia, mostly using hands, forearms and elbows. Therapeutic massage is used to relieve tightness all over your body along major postural muscle groups situated close to the surface of your skin.
Massage helps relieve stress, encourages relaxation and can leave you feeling energized. It reduces aches, pains and stiffness; relaxes and lengthens tight muscles, allowing your body to re-align itself. It has an effect on all the functions of your body - improving circulation and effecting your nervous system which releases endorphins and opiates, your body's natural relaxants and painkillers.
